2 Sign Language Interpreters Needed for the 23/24 School Year near Huntsville, AL

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team for the 23/24 School Year. This is a full-time position, and you will work Monday through Friday. As an SLI, you will provide interpretation and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting.

Responsibilities:
• Provide sign language interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting
• Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and other school staff
• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and other school-related activities
• Support students in understanding and expressing themselves using sign language
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to ensure inclusive and meaningful educational experiences
• Assist in the development of strategies and accommodations to support students' communication needs
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working with students and their families

Qualifications:
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) or equivalent qualification
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiar with various signing systems
• Experience working with elementary school students is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively facilitate communication between students and educators
• Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and learning styles
