Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Job Description:
Are you a skilled and compassionate Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) seeking a fulfilling opportunity to support students in their educational journey? We have an exciting opening for a full-time SLI position located North of Tampa, Florida. As an SLI, you will play a crucial role in providing sign language interpretation services to a 3rd-grade student, ensuring effective communication and accessibility within the educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation for a 3rd-grade student in a 1:1 setting.
- Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, staff, and peers.
- Adapt interpretation techniques and strategies to meet the student's unique learning style and language preferences.
- Collaborate with educators and school personnel to ensure the student's needs are met in all academic and extracurricular settings.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interpreting assignments.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers the student to reach their full potential.
Educational Requirements and Certifications:
- Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) with a minimum score of 4.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification.
- Prior experience working as an SLI in an educational setting is preferred.
Position Details:
- This is a full-time SLI position located North of Tampa, Florida.
- Immediate interviews are available for qualified candidates.
- The selected candidate will be interpreting 1:1 with a 3rd-grade student.
- The position will start on August 10th.
