American Sign Language Interpreter in Denver, CO
Soliant Schools is partnered with a school in Denver, Colorado that is looking for an educational American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter to join their education team. Duties and responsibilities include interpreting and tutoring deaf and hearing impaired students. The purpose of this job is to enable deaf and hard of hearing students in the school system equal access to curriculum and other school-related materials and activities. Requirements:
- Must have an EIPA score of 3.0 or Higher -OR- must have RID certification
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Educational Interpreter Authorization Required
- Experience in American Sign Language and Signing Exact English is required
- Minimum Associate's Degree in Interpreting is required, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Must have experience signing in an educational setting
- Authorized to work in the United States of America
Essential Functions:
- Translating for students.
- Provide interpreting and tutoring support to students during general or special education classes, music, testing situations, and medical services
- Act as a part of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team and supports the accommodations and modifications specified, implementing them under the direction of a teacher
- Additional Duties may be assigned
Job Details:
- Full-time Position (37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday)
- Onsite Position (W2 Contracting)
- Pay Range: $16-$35/hr
