  • Provide high-quality interpretation services between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and staff members within the school district.
  • Facilitate effective communication in various educational settings, ensuring equal access to information for all parties.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to ensure successful integration and participation of students.
  • Maintain a professional and ethical demeanor while adhering to the ASL Interpreter Code of Ethics and the Blazer Jobs standards.


  • Certification: Possess a valid and current American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter certification.
  • Experience: Previous experience in educational or similar settings is preferred, but not required.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ASL proficiency, excellent spoken and written English skills, and the ability to adapt communication style to various audiences.
  • Empathy: Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity towards diverse needs and perspectives within the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing environments and effectively manage unexpected situations.
