Position Overview:

As a Speech-Language Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in bridging communication gaps and ensuring that students who are deaf or hard of hearing have access to educational content. Your expertise will empower students to participate fully in classroom activities and succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language or other appropriate communication modes for students.
• Collaborate with educators, students, and other professionals to ensure effective communication.
• Support students in understanding and expressing themselves in the classroom environment.
• Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

Requirements:

• Certification: Must hold a valid SLI certification or equivalent credentials.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in American Sign Language, Deaf Education, or a related field.
• Experience: Previous experience as an SLI or in a similar role preferred.
• Communication: Strong communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant modes of communication.
• Passion: Genuine passion for facilitating communication and supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
