Sunbelt is currently seeking a highly skilled and passionate American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher to join our dedicated faculty in a local district near San Antonio, TX As an ASL Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive ASL instruction to students of various age groups and skill levels. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of ASL, deaf culture, and effective teaching methodologies, along with the ability to foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a well-structured curriculum for American Sign Language instruction, aligned with state and district standards.
• Teach ASL courses to students of diverse backgrounds, ranging from elementary to high school level.
• Provide engaging and interactive lessons that promote student participation and language acquisition.
• Incorporate multimedia resources, technology, and other relevant teaching aids to enhance learning experiences.
• Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, such as ASL clubs or community events, to enrich students' ASL skills and cultural understanding.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in American Sign Language, Deaf Studies, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in American Sign Language or willingness to obtain certification.
• Fluency in American Sign Language, with a strong understanding of ASL linguistics and grammar.
