A school district near Atascadero, CA is seeking a qualified and experienced Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide communication access to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The SLI will work with one student in 12th grade, and will be responsible for helping the student with college prep courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of American Sign Language (ASL) and English, as well as experience working with deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for student in the classroom, at school-wide events, and in other settings as needed
• Work with teachers and other school staff to ensure that students who are deaf or hard of hearing are able to fully participate in the educational process
• Conduct student evaluations and provide feedback to teachers and administrators
• Maintain confidentiality of student information

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in interpreting or a related field
• ASL fluency (C-level or higher)
• English fluency
• Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing individuals
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
