Soliant is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled School Sign Language Interpreter to join our team for the 2023-2024 School Year. As a School Sign Language Interpreter, you will provide essential communication support to deaf or hard-of-hearing students, enabling them to access education and participate fully in classroom.  Soliant offers Competitive Weekly Pay, Guaranteed Hours, and an exceptional Health Benefits & 401k package.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation services to deaf or hard-of-hearing students in various educational settings, such as classrooms, assemblies, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, facilitating clear communication between students, teachers, and other school personnel.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to understand the curriculum and specific instructional goals, adapting interpretation techniques accordingly.
  • Work closely with individual students to provide one-on-one interpretation services during assessments, tests, and other academic activities.


Qualifications:
 

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant sign language(s).
  • Certification as a sign language interpreter from a recognized institution or equivalent experience in state.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in ASL or Education Interpreting.
