Blazerworks, in partnership with the Savannah School District, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Full-Time Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team in Savannah, GA. Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and staff.
• Provide sign language interpretation and transliteration in various educational settings, including classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
• Adapt interpreting strategies and styles to accommodate individual student needs and preferences.
• Collaborate with teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of interpreting assignments and student progress.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of sign systems used by students with hearing impairments.
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Experience working as an SLI in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with educational terminology and systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different signing styles and preferences.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
