Full-Time Sign Language Interpreter

ProCare Therapy is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, facilitating communication in the classroom and other educational settings.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
• Act as a liaison between students, educators, and parents to ensure accurate transmission of information.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other relevant documentation.
• Continuously improve your knowledge of sign language, including staying up-to-date with new signs and terminology.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpretation or a related field (preferred).
• Certification by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent.
• Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and ability to interpret accurately in various educational subjects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
