Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter

Job Type: Contracted position for the 2023-2024 school year

Job Description: Soliant is currently seeking Sign Language Interpreters to join our team near the Piedmont, OK area. We have three openings available: two full-time positions and one part-time position for the upcoming school year. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will work with middle and high school students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing and are mainstreamed in general education classrooms. Schedules will be assigned closer to the start of the school year. It is required that candidates have an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or a Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) level 3 for educational interpreting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's level degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or Education Interpreting

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in middle and high school settings
• Support students in accessing the general education curriculum through interpreting in classrooms, school activities, and events
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and other school personnel
• Ensure accurate and effective interpretation of spoken language into sign language and vice versa
• Collaborate with the school team to meet the educational needs of the students
• Maintain professional standards of conduct, confidentiality, and ethics in interpreting

Work Hours:

• Two full-time positions and one part-time position (schedules to be assigned closer to the start of the school year)
