We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated School-Based Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year.

Position Overview:

As a School-Based Sign Language Interpreter (SLI), you will play a vital role in facilitating effective communication for a student in a 1:1 setting. Your expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) will help break down communication barriers, enabling the student to fully engage in the learning environment. Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation and support to a designated student on a 1:1 basis.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other educational professionals to ensure the student's needs are met.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and interactions.
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI).
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Previous experience in a school-based or educational setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to various communication styles and needs.
