Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide virtual sign language interpretation for students in Virginia schools.
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff during virtual classes and educational sessions.
  • Adapt to the needs and preferences of students with diverse communication styles.
  • Collaborate with educators to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia Sign Language Interpreter license.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and an understanding of Deaf culture.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, distraction-free workspace.
  • Comfortable working virtually and using virtual communication tools.
