Position: Sign Language Interpreter Aide

Hours: Full-time
School Level: Elementary

Join our team as a Sign Language Interpreter Aide for the upcoming school year in Westville, IL.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated basic understanding and use of major sign language systems (Signed English, American Sign Language)
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Paraprofessional license required through ISBE

Responsibilities:

• Assist students who are deaf or hard of hearing in the classroom
• Provide interpretation and support using sign language systems (Signed English, ASL)
• Collaborate with teachers, students, and families to ensure effective communication
• Facilitate inclusion and participation of students with hearing impairments
• Assist with instructional materials and classroom organization as needed
