School SLI Position Now Available

Blazerworks, in collaboration with schools, is a reputable provider of comprehensive support services to students. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Speech-Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team in Savannah, GA. Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation and communication support for students with hearing impairments or language disorders
• Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and other school staff members
• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, ensuring accurate and clear communication in educational settings
• Assist with interpreting in classrooms, during school activities, and at individualized education program (IEP) meetings
• Collaborate with teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to support students' language and communication goals
• Help students develop their language and communication skills through targeted interventions and strategies
• Support students with assistive technology and amplification devices as needed
• Maintain professional and ethical standards in line with industry guidelines

Requirements:

• Certification as a Speech-Language Interpreter (SLI) or a relevant certification in sign language interpretation
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with various sign systems and modes of communication
• Experience working as an SLI in an educational setting is preferred, but qualified candidates with related experience will be considered
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of educational terminology and practices
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility and adaptability in different educational environments and with diverse student populations
