Sign Language Interpreter - Batesville, Arkansas area

Soliant Education has partnered with a school district in the Batesville, Arkansas area to prescreen, interview, and hire a Sign Language Interpreter. 

Position Overview: As a School-Based Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and other school staff. You will work closely with students on a highschool caseload, ensuring they have equal access to education and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Position Type: Full-Time, W2 contract Caseload: Highschool 

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services during classroom instruction, meetings, and school-related activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure the effective integration of students with hearing impairments.
• Assist in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and educational goals for students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes communication and learning.
• Act as an advocate for students with hearing impairments and ensure their needs are met.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and services provided.

Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification, EIPA score 3.0 and up, NIC or RID 
• Arkansas Interpreter license or pending 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of educational and sign language interpreting techniques
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
