Job Description:

Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in Winnebago, Illinois. This is a full-time position for the entire school year, providing support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. If you have the necessary qualifications and a passion for facilitating effective communication in educational settings, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Facilitate communication between students and school staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure students' needs are met.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of interpreting services.
• Participate in individualized education plan (IEP) meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the required endorsement for sign language interpretation.
• 3.5 EIPA or 3.0 EIPA with ISBE approval.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an educational environment.
• Dedication to promoting effective communication and academic success for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
