School Seeking Sign Language Interpreter
Location: Dalton, Georgia
Position Overview: We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in Dalton, Georgia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and other school staff members.
Your Role:
Provide sign language interpretation services to students in various educational settings, including classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities. Foster effective communication between students, teachers, and other school personnel, ensuring that all parties have equal access to information and educational opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting, Deaf Education, or a related field preferred.
- Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required.
- Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting preferred.
