Elementary School-Based Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)

Are you a skilled Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young students? ProCare Therapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated SLI to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year at an elementary school in Weatherford, OK. 

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and hearing individuals.
• Provide sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings.
• Assist students with understanding and expressing spoken and written language.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Stay updated on the latest techniques and strategies in sign language interpretation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Level Degree in ASL or Education Interpreting
• Certifications: EIPA, RID, and NIC
• Licensed as an SLI/ASL Interpreter in OK.
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant sign language systems.
• Prior experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in an educational setting.
