Sign Language Interpreter Opening for the 23/24 School Year

Soliant is currently seeking a Sign Language Interpreter for the 23/24 school year in Yelm, Washington. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting in a school setting and be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). This position will be responsible for providing interpreting services for students with hearing impairments, ensuring effective communication between the students, teachers, and other staff members.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret for students with hearing impairments in various educational settings, including classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities
• Ensure accurate communication between students, teachers, and other staff members
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to provide support for students with hearing impairments
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required

Requirements:

• Degree in Sign Language Interpreting or related field
• Minimum of 1 year of experience interpreting in a school setting
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
• Valid certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or EIPA score of 4.0
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
