Soliant is looking for full-time sign language interpreters for this upcoming school year.  An ideal candidate is dependable and obtains a Bachelor's Level Degree in ASL or Education Interpreting. Middle school/ High School experience preferred, but not required.

The signing teacher assistant’s primary role is to assist in all aspects of the daily instructional program for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The signing teacher assistant may be responsible for individual or small group instruction under the direct or indirect supervision of the teacher or other person designated  to direct or supervise teacher assistants.

The signing teacher assistant will participate in activities necessary to maintain classroom integration and to support a child’s IEP in all curricula activities which include classroom, community, vocational, recreational/leisure, and domestic domains as directed.

Requirements:

• Paraprofessional License through the Illinois State Board of Education
• Fluent in American Sign Language
• Ability to interpret English and ASL
