SLI Needed for a School District in Round Lake, IL

Blazerworks, in partnership with a school district in Round Lake, IL, is seeking a qualified and motivated Speech-Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team. This position offers a full-time schedule with the possibility of renewal for the next school year. Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation and translation services for students with communication disorders or language barriers
• Assist students in understanding and participating in classroom activities, discussions, and assessments
• Collaborate with speech-language pathologists and other educational professionals to support students' communication goals
• Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and parents during meetings, conferences, and events
• Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the individual needs of students
• Maintain accurate documentation of interpretation services and student progress

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other specialized communication methods
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and educators
• Knowledge of educational principles and practices related to speech and language development
• Certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Interpreter (SLI) preferred, but not required
