Blazerjobs, in collaboration with the Medford School District, is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team. As an SLI, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and other school staff members.
Job Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for students with hearing impairments, ensuring their access to educational content and communication.
- Collaborate with teachers, students, and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students who use sign language.
- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, providing necessary accommodations and support.
- Utilize appropriate interpreting techniques and ethical standards to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in communication.
