Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter {TK - 3rd Grade}
Location: Modesto, CA
Employment Type: Contract, Part-time (25 Hours/Week, 9:00am - 2:00pm)
Caseload Details: Starting ASAP - 5/30/24

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and hearing individuals.
• Provide sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings.
• Assist students with understanding and expressing spoken and written language.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Stay updated on the latest techniques and strategies in sign language interpretation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Level Degree in ASL or Education Interpreting 
• Certifications: EIPA (4.0 or HIGHER), RID, and NIC
• Licensed as an SLI/ASL Interpreter in CA.
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant sign language systems.
• Prior experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in an educational setting.
