Contract Sign Language Interpreter 
ProCare Therapy is working with a school district located in Maple Valley, WA that is looking to hire a sign language interpreter for their summer school program with the opportunity to renew for the 2024-2025 school year.

The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. While undergoing your assignment, you will be provided with: competitive compensation, weekly paychecks, and superior healthcare benefits through United Healthcare.

Schedule:

  • Summer school: July 8th - July 31st
  • Monday - Thursday
  • Hours: 8:30 - 12:00
  • August 2024 - June 2025
  • K-12th grade caseload
  • 1:1 with assigned student 
  • Providing instruction and interpretation to student
  • Paraprofessional and behavior technician in classroom for additional support

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation for students in various settings, including classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support the educational needs of students.
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the communication needs of individual students.
  • Assist in the preparation of educational materials in accessible formats.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development sessions as required.

Requirements:

  • EIPA 3.5+ , RID or NIC
  • Bachelor's in ASL or Education Interpreting
  • Washington OSPI fingerprints
  • Previous school experience preferred
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

Interview Process:

  • 10 –15 minute screening call with a ProCare Therapy Recruiter
  • 20-30 Minute virtual interview directly with the school district
  • Offer is typically within 24-48 hours of the virtual interview
