This is a full-time position for the 2023-2024 school year in Lewisburg, TN.

Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter
Location: Lewisburg, TN
Employment Type: Contract, Full-Time (37.5 hours a week)
Caseload Details: 1:1 position with a student
Requirements:

• EIPA 3.5-4.0, RID or NIC
• Bachelor's in ASL or Education Interpreting
• Previous school experience preferred
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

Responsibilities:

• 1:1 with student
• Provide sign language interpretation and translation services to deaf or hard-of-hearing students in various educational settings, such as classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely interpretation of spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support students' individualized educational plans (IEPs) and provide appropriate accommodations.
• Assist students in developing their language and communication skills by providing guidance and feedback.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards of conduct.
• Participate in relevant meetings and professional development activities to enhance interpreting skills and stay updated on best practices in the field.
