What we’re looking for:
- Current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter/Transliterator
- Proven experience in 1:1 pediatric interpreting within a school environment
- Demonstrated fluency in ASL, with an ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher (required)
- Friendly, adaptable mindset and a true commitment to supporting children’s communication needs
- Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and collaboration with educational staff and families
- Willingness to be on-site throughout the contract term
Key responsibilities:
- Provide accurate 1:1 interpretation for young students, ensuring clear communication between students, staff, and peers
- Actively facilitate classroom participation, social integration, and access to all instructional activities
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to tailor communication strategies to individual student needs
