Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional interpreting and transliterating services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, staff, and their families during instructional and school-related activities.
- Serve as a vital related service provider and collaborate as an active member of each student’s educational team.
- Support consistent communication and foster student participation, ensuring students access both academic content and social learning environments.
- Adapt interpreting styles to fit classroom lessons, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities, facilitating full engagement for all attendees.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop strategies that meet each student’s communication needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid ASL Interpreter certification and credentials suitable for Minnesota school settings.
- Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students strongly preferred.
- Ability to build rapport and effectively interpret or transliterate across various age groups and learning situations.
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and ongoing development in the field of sign language interpretation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary educational teams.
