Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Ceres, California

Take on a contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter, working onsite with one school and providing dedicated 1:1 assistance to empower effective communication and learning for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that educational content is accessible and that students are fully engaged in their academic journey. This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week position, offering steady hours and the chance to cultivate impactful relationships within an educational setting.
Desired Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 4.0 required
- Completion of CHSPE or NCLB
- Minimum of 48 units in higher education or an associate degree
- Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or TEC Unit Level 4 ACCI
- Experience interpreting in school settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation for students in academic and extracurricular environments
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and the educational team to support lesson delivery and classroom participation
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical practices in interpreting
- Foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere to help students reach their full potential
- Participate in relevant planning and professional development as needed
