What You Bring:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language with experience in educational settings
- Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, or a score of 4.0+ on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment
- Open consideration for candidates with EIPA under 4.0 (will be designated as ASL Para)
- Ability to provide both sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting
- Compassion for students’ needs and dedication to inclusive communication
- Preference for working with middle or high school students (please indicate your interest)
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear communication and understanding among hard of hearing/deaf students, hearing peers, teachers, and staff
- Interpret classroom discussions, instructions, and school activities
- Support students in academics—reading, writing, math—as well as vocational and independent living skills
- Supervise and engage students during classroom, outdoor, and community activities
- Collaborate with teachers and educational teams to promote student success
This is a full-time, onsite position with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (approximately 30 hours per week). The assignment spans the current and upcoming school year, offering an opportunity to make a significant impact in students’ everyday lives.
