Make a difference in students’ lives by supporting accessible education as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter. Opportunities are open for the upcoming school year, with both in-person and hybrid/virtual placements prioritized according to your preference. Collaborate with a dedicated team, including Deaf and Hard of Hearing specialists and other classroom support staff, to create inclusive learning experiences.
There are multiple full-time contract positions available, with assignments running from late August through mid-July. Caseload details will be shared as soon as they're finalized, and applications are actively being reviewed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
- Valid licensure/certification as required by state and federal guidelines
- Ability to effectively facilitate communication between students, staff, and families
- Collaborative spirit and commitment to teamwork
- Previous experience working alongside Deaf and Hard of Hearing professionals or in special education is a plus
- Familiarity with both in-person and virtual/hybrid interpreting modalities preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct interpreting services for students and staff, adapting to individual needs
- Partner with educators and support teams to help implement IEPs and support student engagement
- Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical guidelines for interpreters
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and relevant professional development
- Serve as a communication bridge, fostering inclusivity and accessibility across classroom activities
