This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively within a dedicated team that includes teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing and additional classroom professionals, ensuring students receive the individualized support they need to succeed. With up to five openings available, your specialized skills will help foster an accessible learning environment and strong connections within the school community.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter licensure required
- Prior experience working in educational or school settings is highly valued
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Ability to adapt to various student needs and support inclusive classroom settings
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate interpretation of spoken and signed communication between students, staff, and peers
- Collaborate closely with DHH educators and classroom support teams
- Maintain documentation and adhere to best practices for educational interpreting
- Support full participation and engagement of students in classroom and school activities
- Offer flexibility for in-person assignments and openness to hybrid or fully virtual placements based on school needs
This role is full-time, covering the anticipated span of August 24, 2026 through July 15, 2027. The caseload and specific student assignments will be finalized prior to placement. Candidates will enjoy working in a supportive and resourceful environment dedicated to student success.
