A rewarding opportunity awaits skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support students in an educational setting near Creswell, OR! This full-time contract position spans the academic year, with assignments beginning in late August and concluding mid-July. Up to five positions are available, offering the chance to work alongside a dynamic team consisting of Deaf and Hard of Hearing specialists and classroom support staff.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative communicator who is flexible and passionate about ensuring students have equitable access to instruction. Caseload specifics will be provided soon, ensuring assignments fit your strengths and experience. Priority is given to in-person interpreters, but applications for hybrid and virtual assignments are enthusiastically welcomed.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification and relevant state licensure (please include with your application)
- Experience interpreting in school or educational environments strongly preferred
- Strong ASL skills and familiarity with various communication modalities
- A supportive, team-oriented attitude
- Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and classroom settings
- References required prior to interview (please submit with resume and credentials)
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers using ASL in academic and social contexts
- Collaborate with educators and DHH specialists to promote full inclusion
