This full-time contract opportunity offers a dynamic role providing communication support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, staff, and families across multiple school settings. You’ll collaborate as a valued member of each student’s educational team, ensuring full communication access and supporting inclusive participation throughout the day.
In this position, you’ll:
- Deliver sign language interpreting and transliterating services in classrooms, assemblies, meetings, and other school events
- Serve as a related service provider, collaborating with teachers, service staff, and families
- Foster an inclusive environment by supporting equal communication access for all
- Adjust interpreting techniques to match various educational and age levels
- Promote advocacy, cultural awareness, and effective communication strategies within the school community
- Travel between schools on an as-needed basis as part of a district-wide team
Preferred qualifications:
- Valid ASL Interpreter certification or credentials required for practice within Minnesota schools
- Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, especially in an educational environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships among students, staff, and families
- Adaptability and professionalism when working across different educational settings
