What You’ll Bring:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience interpreting in educational or school settings preferred
- Understanding of classroom dynamics and flexibility in accommodating individual student needs
- Professionalism, confidentiality, and excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students
- Sensitivity to the unique challenges faced by students with hearing differences and behavioral needs
Your Role Will Include:
- Providing consistent ASL interpreting services during all instructional times for one student
- Collaborating with classroom teachers to facilitate accessible instruction
- Supporting a student using Cochlear implants, hearing aids, and classroom assistive listening devices
- Fostering an inclusive, respectful environment for student success
- Maintaining professional boundaries, student confidentiality, and clear communication with school staff
- Adapting to the student’s evolving needs and educational adjustments
