Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher
- Experience working in pediatric or K-12 educational settings, preferably in a 1:1 support capacity
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of Deaf culture
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with educators, students, and families
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical interpreting practices
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct one-on-one ASL interpretation for a student in classroom and school activities
- Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff across all academic settings
- Adapt interpreting style to the student’s needs and classroom context
- Support the student’s participation in school events and extracurricular activities
- Work closely with education teams to implement accommodations and ensure accessibility
- Maintain accurate records and uphold professional standards
