Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Dixon, California
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting students across grade levels at a welcoming school site. This onsite position begins August 12, 2026 and runs through June 4, 2027, with a steady schedule of 35 hours per week. You’ll work one-on-one with a student, ensuring they have access to engaging, inclusive education from kindergarten through 12th grade. The specific assignment will be tailored to your background and preferences, allowing you to make the greatest impact in your area of expertise.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) certification and licensure in California
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
- Experience in educational settings, especially with K-12 students, strongly preferred
- Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, meaningful interpretation for a K-12 student at a single school site
- Foster effective communication between student, peers, and school personnel
- Prepare for lessons and adapt interpreting methods to meet student needs
- Uphold ethical and professional standards consistent with educational interpreting
- Participate in team meetings as needed and contribute to a supportive learning environment
