Key Qualifications:
- Current EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (required)
- Previous experience working in school settings as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and English to interpret discussions, lectures, and student interactions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working virtually and utilizing video conferencing technology
- Full-time availability
Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time virtual interpreting services for students during classroom instruction, activities, and school events
- Accurately interpret spoken language into American Sign Language and vice versa
- Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards for educational interpreters
- Collaborate with educational staff to ensure optimal access to curriculum for students
- Participate in team meetings and IEP discussions as needed
- Keep clear records of assignments and student progress
