Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher required
- Prior experience working 1:1 with pediatric or school-aged children preferred
- Expertise in American Sign Language and interpreting within educational environments
- Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a compassionate approach
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, support staff, and families
- Willingness to provide consistent, on-site support for students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver precise, effective interpretation for a 1:1 pediatric student during classroom instruction, activities, and school events
- Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educators, peers, and staff
- Support student engagement and participation in educational and social activities
- Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism at all times
- Adjust interpreting approaches to meet the unique needs of the student and context
