Key Qualifications:
- Valid 4.0 EIPA or current RID certification required
- Demonstrated experience as a school-based or educational Sign Language Interpreter
- Ability to facilitate clear, effective communication between students, staff, and peers
- Proficient in both receptive and expressive American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 interpreting services to a student in classroom and school activities
- Accurately convey spoken information using ASL and voice interpreting in academic settings
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and special education teams to foster student success
- Adapt communication style to meet individual student needs and educational goals
- Support student participation, understanding, and engagement in all school environments
