What we’re looking for:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter with licensure to practice
- ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher (required)
- Experience providing 1:1 interpretation, preferably with pediatric or school-aged students
- Clear understanding of confidentiality standards in educational settings
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families
- Reliability, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative spirit
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation for a pediatric student in classroom and school activities
- Facilitate communication between students, educators, and school staff
- Support academic and social participation for assigned student
- Adapt interpretation methods to meet the unique needs of the student
- Maintain accurate, confidential records as required
- Work closely with teaching teams to ensure student success
