Embrace a consistent weekday schedule, collaborating with educators and staff to foster an inclusive classroom environment. You’ll serve as a crucial communication bridge, delivering 1:1 interpreting services that enable your student to engage fully in all school activities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Alabama Sign Language Interpreter license or permit
- Interpreting certification preferred (RID, EIPA, BEI, or similar)
- Prior school-based interpreting experience a plus
- Experience offering 1:1 support to students, ideally in educational contexts
- Consistent, dependable attendance and commitment through May 28, 2027
- Availability to work the full school schedule (8:00 AM – 2:30 PM, no late arrivals or early departures)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 interpreting services for a student throughout the school day
- Support classroom learning, activities, and social interaction by facilitating effective communication
- Collaborate closely with teachers, educational teams, and school staff
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability at all times
- Participate in team meetings and training as required
