Sign Language Interpreter in Junction City, OR
Bring your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter to a dynamic educational environment dedicated to supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. We are seeking skilled interpreters for several contract openings in a collaborative team setting. You’ll work closely with DHH educators and classroom support staff to foster accessible and enriching learning experiences throughout the school year.
These opportunities are full-time, beginning in late August and continuing until mid-July, with multiple placements available. Flexibility is offered—while in-person interpreters are a priority, hybrid and virtual setups are also being considered to ensure students receive the support they need. The specific caseloads will be determined based on school assignments and student needs.
What You'll Do:
- Provide direct interpreting services for DHH students in academic and extracurricular settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, educational staff, and support personnel to facilitate effective communication.
- Adapt interpretation delivery style as needed for individual students and classroom environments.
- Support student access and participation in both individual and group activities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation as required.
Who You Are:
- Certified Sign Language Interpreter (hold relevant licensure).
- Previous experience in educational or school-based interpreting roles is preferred.
- Skilled in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiar with educational terminology.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and a commitment to teamwork.
- Flexible and adaptable to fluently interpret in diverse situations and formats.
