Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting students in a dynamic educational setting for the 2026-2027 school year. Up to five full-time contract roles are available, with start and end dates from August 24, 2026, through July 15, 2027. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of Deaf and Hard of Hearing specialists and classroom support professionals to ensure students have access to communication and learning.
Your expertise in sign language interpretation will be essential, facilitating clear, effective interaction between students, staff, and educators. Whether you prefer in-person, hybrid, or virtual options, your skills are needed to meet the communication needs of students in various learning environments.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid certification/licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter.
- Experience, preferably in educational settings, interpreting for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Flexibility and a collaborative mindset to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt interpretation methods to a variety of students and classroom settings.
- Strong organizational skills and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to work onsite, hybrid, or virtually depending on assignment needs.
- Current resume and active licensure (required to apply); references will be requested prior to interview.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing sign language interpretation in academic, extracurricular, and small group settings.
- Supporting student comprehension and participation in classroom activities.
- Working closely with DHH specialists and other educational team members to adapt communication to student needs.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional and ethical standards.
