We’re seeking dedicated professionals to join an inclusive team focused on empowering Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners. This is a contract role with multiple openings and flexible placement possibilities, including in-person, hybrid, and virtual options. You'll collaborate with an experienced group that values every interpreter’s expertise and ensures a nurturing, engaging environment.
Position Highlights:
- Full-time contract from 8/24/26 to 7/15/27, with flexibility depending on school site assignment
- Work alongside educators, DHH specialists, and classroom support staff
- Up to 5 positions available, offering opportunities to connect with a variety of students and peer interpreters
- Caseload assignments to be determined soon, ensuring personalized placement based on your skills and preferences
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Valid and current licensure for sign language interpreting in educational settings
- Previous experience working in schools or with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is highly valued
- Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability in diverse settings
- Ability to provide references and documentation of professional credentials prior to interview
Role Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and interactions using ASL and/or other appropriate communication modes
- Support clear communication between students, staff, and families
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights for student success
- Foster a welcoming, accessible atmosphere for all learners
