You’ll work full-time alongside a dedicated team that includes primarily Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) and various classroom support staff. Your expertise will ensure effective communication and inclusivity across learning environments. Flexible work modes are being considered—the priority is in-person support, but hybrid and virtual arrangements may also be available.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter required
- Demonstrated experience supporting students in educational or classroom settings
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including DHH educators
- Flexibility and professionalism in dynamic, student-centered environments
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation services for students and staff as assigned
- Facilitate effective communication between DHH students, peers, and educators
- Collaborate with team members to support students’ learning and social participation
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical interpreting standards
- Adapt interpreting approach based on classroom needs and lesson content
