Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Valid SC Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) certification required
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills
- Experience working within educational settings or similar environments highly preferred
- Ability to facilitate clear, culturally competent communication between students, staff, and families
- Flexibility to support needs at multiple school sites as assigned
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide language interpretation for students, staff, and parents within classroom and school settings
- Collaborate closely with educators to support academic and social success for students
- Interpret during IEP meetings, school events, and other school-related activities
- Ensure confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries in all interactions
- Remain adaptable, transitioning between schools as needed to fulfill assignments onsite
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as requested
