Utilize your interpreting expertise to facilitate communication and learning for a student requiring dedicated 1:1 services. You'll partner closely with educators, related service providers, and the student, helping foster meaningful engagement in classroom activities and throughout the school day.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English
- Experience providing Sign Language Interpreting services in educational settings
- Understanding of and empathy for students with diverse needs
- Ability to interpret classroom instruction and social interaction effectively
- Professional interpreter certification or EIPA credentials preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 interpreting services for an elementary student across academic and social school activities
- Accurately translate classroom instruction, directions, and peer interactions
- Work alongside teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure student inclusion
