Key Qualifications:
- Hold an EIPA score above 4.0—a requirement for this discipline.
- Valid licensure in the applicable “State / Discipline”.
- Proven experience interpreting for students within elementary through high school environments (K-12).
- Strong grasp of American Sign Language (ASL) and related interpreting techniques.
- Adept at working collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, teachers, and peers in classroom and school settings.
- Adapt interpretation styles to fit each student’s language needs and learning preferences.
- Participate in team meetings, IEP discussions, and school events as needed.
- Support students’ academic and social development by ensuring information is accurately accessible.
- Maintain professional documentation and uphold standards of confidentiality and ethical practice.
