Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (NH state credential, or eligible)
- American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) score of 4.1 or higher
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations
- Ability to provide dedicated 1:1 interpretation services
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and professionalism in adapting to school environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear communication between the assigned student, peers, and staff through American Sign Language
- Interpret classroom instruction, assignments, group activities, and school events with accuracy and cultural sensitivity
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families to support the student’s academic and social success
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information and school matters
- Adhere to established educational and ethical standards for interpreters
